NMC is the largest private healthcare chain in the United Arab Emirates. NMC Health is headquartered in Abu Dhabi and has branch hospitals in Dubai, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and Al Ain. NMC has two main branches of business, NMC Healthcare and NMC Trading.
NMC Healthcare has been UAE’s trusted healthcare partner for over 40 years and treats over 2.4 million patients a year from various parts of the world. The Healthcare business comprises of Hospitals, Medical Centres, Pharmacies and Day surgery centres.
Pinnacle was involved in restructuring of the server infrastructure at NMC HO Datacenter. We designed, proposed and implemented a complete virtualized server infrastructure running on VMware Enterprise plus.
We were able to replace and upgrade their aging hardware to the latest and provide scalability for future growth and expansion. The VMWare cluster created was on complete HA and backups taken care by Veeam Backup and Replication. We then set out to build and configure the DR server infrastructure, to provide connectivity and uptime for NMC’s critical HIS applications which needs to be always available for all the branch operations. The replication process was taken care by Veeam B & R.
On completion of the HO virtualization, we proceeded to design, build and implement a state-of-the-art Datacenter for NMC’s DR site in DIP. We implemented containment Datacenter architecture. Containment makes existing cooling and power infrastructure more effective. Using containment, the Data center makes increasingly efficient use of the same or less cooling, reducing the cooling portion of the total energy bill.
We migrated the ageing UTM and perimeter security appliances to Fortinet and provided High Availability and stability to their perimeter security and connectivity. All of the branch sites are connected via an MPLS circuit to both the HO and DR site.
